"Dog Dads are Fathers, Too" Day - Sat., June 18th, 2005
We
celebrated human dog dads on Saturday and boy did we all have pawsitively
good time. The old adage, "the way to a man's heart is through
is stomach" rings pretty true, so we had plenty of hot dogs, sodas,
water, and homemade baked goods on the porch at Godfrey's. We
also had a couple of contests going on for dads only. One was "Poop
Putting" and here's how it worked. Dad held a poop scooper shovel
like a golf club and had to putt a Planet Dog orbee ball towards
a "pin" (an upturned pooper scooper shovel). For that
one, the closest to the pin won. For the second game, dad had to use
a ball launcher and throw for distance. We had two winners, each
receiving a Godfrey's T-shirt. We also had a "One Day Only
Sale" going on - 10% off "dad" items. We had quite
a few dogs visiting with their dads...rhodesian ridgebacks, one of our
favorite basset hound families, a golden retriever puppy, a maltese,
corgis, and on and on. Thanks to all you dog dads and your families
who were good sports and took part!
