Emmett, President Godfrey’s named Finalist for Forbes Enterprise Awards Godfrey’s-Welcome to Dogdom was recently named a finalist in the business magazine’s Enterprise Awards. An honor that owner Barb Emmett describes as “ exciting and humbling.” “To be included along with so many wonderful businesses and by gaining recognition from an organization as well respected as Forbes gives a small business owner like me encouragement to continue to try new initiatives ,” Emmett said. The Forbes Enterprise Awards recognize “outstanding businesses that demonstrate visionary practices and achievements.” Finalists are judged on a series of business elements: product or service innovation, employee development and support, customer relations, community involvement, and marketing or other efforts that lead to growth. The Forbes Enterprise award recognizes outstanding small businesses that demonstrate innovation and achievement. The Forbes Enterprise Awards Judging Committee was chaired by Judith H. Dorzynski, who has vast experience as a reporter and senior editor at the New York Times and Business Week, Managing Editor at CNBC, and as an adjunct professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. A qualified panel of business leaders went through a rigorous judging process that considered thousands of entries within 25 industry categories ranging from automotive to financial services. About Forbes Enterprise Awards: The Forbes Enterprise Awards are designed to recognize professional efforts and accomplishments in small business, judged within 25 categories. The Forbes Enterprise Awards are produced by Television USA and sponsored by Verizon. The Awards cememony will be broadcast on television and published in a special section of Forbes magazine. Out of thousands of entries, Godfrey’s was one of only 144 finalists. The Forbes Enterprise Awards will be given out at a gala luncheon at Jazz at Lincoln Center ’s Allen Hall on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007.
