2ND ANNUAL HOWL-O-WEEN PAWRADE AND PAWTY, SAT., OCT. 29, 2005
Wow, did we have a great time Saturday, Oct. 29, at our 2nd annual Howl-o-ween Pawrade and Pawty! Thanks to all of you who came out on a rather cold Oct. day to have some fun with your 4-legged furry kids. And best of all, we raised $134.41 for Noah's Wish, a non-profit organization dedicated to relief efforts for animals in disasters.
The costumes were fantastic! Such talent and creativity went into this event! We had a terrific turnout - over 40 canines participated. What a great group of dogs; friendly, adorable, good sports, and up for a good time! We had costume awards in four categories: canines 30 lbs. and under; 30-50lbs; over 50 lbs; and group awards. Our audience and participants determined the winners. Games were the "Trick or Wiener" (bobbing for hot dogs), "Spooky House" obstacle course, and "Skeleton Bones" bone-decorating. Cheryl, our very own sales associate, was again the event coordinator. Thanks, Cheryl!
Just a few brief comments about some of our group participants. Apparently some canines think they are cowboys! One of our play groups, The Rawhide Gang, came in the theme of their play group...yep, that's right...cowboys. And the group was complete with a cow! We also had the three little pigs and the big bad wolf-adorable basset hounds and a pug played those roles. Oh, and lest we forget Dorothy, the tin man and the scarecrow. They were amazing. And the Penn State crew was ready for the game. What a surprise when a huge skunk showed up...thank goodness it was a really a newfoundland! And the Yorkie-saurus was pretty frightening!
Words can't do this justice...take a look for yourself!
